Geoff Lockwood, technical director at fan and motor supplier ebm-papst, has been appointed president of the Federation of Environmental Trade Associations (FETA).
Mr Lockwood takes on the new position in addition to his role as president of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Manufacturers Association (HEVAC). He will continue with his responsibilities for HEVAC alongside his new role at FETA.
Mr Lockwood's career spans over 21 years at ebm-papst, and he is a well-recognised figure within the industry, respected for his technical expertise, he has been instrumental in pioneering EC technology to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions from building service and refrigeration equipment.
Cedric Sloan, director general of FETA, said: 'Geoff has been effective in every role he has accepted within the federation and without doubt he will prove to be an excellent representative in this, the most senior position open to our trade association members.'
Mr Lockwood became active in the Fan Manufacturers Association (FMA), the specialist fan group within HEVAC, in 2000 and became the chairman in 2005, and has been a supportive and active member of industry groups and associations throughout his career. He said: 'I am passionate about engineering and privileged to be working in such an innovative industry and to now be representing the interests of these valuable trade groups as their president.'
