Distech Controls introduces new CPD course

The Internet of Things (IoT) is set to have an enormous impact on the building controls industry, but what does this mean? Distech Controls tackles this question in its new CIBSE accredited CPD course.

The course, 'Building Automation Embraces the Internet of Things (IoT)', focuses on the meaning behind IoT and how it can improve the performance and comfort of commercial buildings.

Attendees will learn how IoT can benefit the Building Management Systems (BMS) industry to create more intelligent and connected buildings. They will also be able to see how an advanced system, combined with controller unification capabilities, can create intelligent buildings that are ready for an internet-connected future.

Chris Irwin, vice president of sales, Europe and Africa at Distech Controls, stated: “We are delighted to offer this new CIBSE accredited CPD course. There is so much buzz around IoT and we must educate people about the real and tangible benefits of IoT compatible buildings. This course will help to do just that, while also answering questions or concerns attendees may have when it comes to adapting their building or building control strategies.”

Aimed at consulting engineers, facilities managers, services contractors, architects, building owners and building specifiers, Distech Controls is offering courses throughout the UK and Ireland.

The course consists of a two-hour presentation that aims to enhance attendees’ knowledge of the BMS market, whilst also increasing awareness of the challenges and opportunities that await the industry in the future.
