Dean & Wood appoints technical director

Dean & Wood has hired John Smith as its director of technical, just one of several new year appointments made by the air-conditioning wholesaler.

John Smith has worked in the industry for 25 years. He did a 10 year stint with Dean & Wood after starting as a field sales engineer in 1987.

Specialising in electronic controls, John has previously worked for Danfoss, JTL Systems and Honeywell.

Mark Haywood joined Dean & Wood's Birmingham branch as technical sales engineer, responsible for product selection and assistance for the air-conditioning and refrigeration range. Mark has more than 37 years experience in the industry.

John Downing-Gaines has joined them as its Bristol branch-based technical sales engineer, following the retirement of Dave Newell. John, previously with United Refrigeration has over 30 years of experience in the air conditioning industry and is a member of the Institute Of Refrigeration.

Don Sewell is the new technical sales engineer for its Manchester office. Don joins DW after eight years with Climate Center, five years at J&E Hall and seven years at Star Refrigeration.
