Six Century 4 humidifiers, supplied by Calorex Heat Pumps, are playing a vital role in protecting priceless exhibits on display at the Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate, Kent.
Helping to maintain optimum environmental conditions, Calorex's Century humidifiers gently put moisture into the atmosphere that is often dried out by harsh heating systems especially during the winter months. The plug and go machines are fully portable and easy to use as they can be quickly and efficiently be repositioned.
'The Century humidifiers are being used at the Turner Contemporary Gallery as a back up to the in-house system and they are doing an excellent job,' says David Yard of the seafront venue.
'Not only do they help protect the priceless exhibits, they help improve the air quality for both staff and visitors, noticeably helping to prevent dry eyes, dry skin and sore throats,' he adds.
Capable of humidifying space volumes of up to 400m³, the Century 4 is ideal for use in art galleries, museums, hospitals, computer rooms, laboratories and for storage.
The multi-award winning landmark building on the Margate seafront is a dynamic visual arts venue. It is attracting A-list celebrities, senior politicians and was recently visited by Her Majesty the Queen.
As well as a heavy emphasis on community arts, recent headline displays have included selected works of the gallery's namesake, JMW Turner, Rodin's The Kiss and the works of contemporary artists like Tracey Emin.
