Calorex and Dantherm announce new partnership

Calorex and Dantherm, two of the biggest names in swimming pool ventilation, mobile drying and commercial dehumidification manufacture, have joined forces following their acquisition by new investors.

Effective from 20 January 2016, Procuritas Capital Investors V has wholly purchased Calorex Heat Pumps Ltd and the HVAC division of Dantherm A/S.

The acquisition of both companies results in the consolidation of two major European brands within these product areas, creating increased business opportunities for both. For many years the companies have worked side by side in a number of European markets.

Calorex and Dantherm will continue to operate in the market as two independent brands and will use each other's market and product strengths. This will make it possible to realise synergies, and potentially increase both companies’ growth.

Procuritas is a private equity house with more than 30 years of investment experience focusing on mid-sized northern European companies. Bringing together Calorex and Dantherm is fully in line with Procuritas’ strategy to expand within swimming pool ventilation, home ventilation, mobile dehumidifiers, portable air conditioners and commercial dehumidification.

Richard Carrington, managing director at Calorex says: “We look forward to this exciting development that will provide us with the ability to offer additional value in new areas as well as staying loyal to the core road map that Calorex has always followed.”

Dantherm UK managing director, Ian Furmidge, said: “This partnership brings together over 80 years of experience in the swimming pool market and an unrivalled technical expertise of both ventilation and heat pump technology. We look forward to expanding our product portfolio and taking our energy efficiency and funded ESCO solutions to a wider market.”
