Briggs & Forrester secures four London contracts

Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services has secured four major projects in London worth in excess of £15m.
At 7-8 St James in central London, the company will refurbish and rebuild a part retained listed structure to provide 10,000m2 of high class commercial office space. Arranged over eight floors, the project will achieve a BREEAM 'Very Good' rating. Briggs & Forrester was chosen by main contractor Galliford Try Construction.

The second project is for Norwood Hall Joint Service Centre, in South London. It involves the construction of a new build health centre, customer services centre, dental facility, gymnasium and swimming pool. The scheme will achieve a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating primarily by incorporating a combined heat and power unit and roof mounted photovoltaic panels. The main contractor is Galliford Try Partnerships.

At Commodity Quay, St Katherine Docks, the refurbishment project will provide more than 22,000m2 of prime commercial office space over seven floors. Car parking, health club and restaurant space will also be provided. Briggs & Forrester has been appointed by main contractor McLaren Construction.

The final project involves the construction of a new 4,000m2 primary school in the London Borough of Barnet. Orion School in Mill Hill will replace an existing school and increase its capacity to a four form entry from Spring 2014. Facilities will include all weather sports pitches, a theatre and staff support facilities. The main contractor is Kier London.

Briggs & Forrester will provide the complete mechanical, electrical, public health and fire protection services for all four projects.
