Briggs & Forrester completes library contract
Known as The Hive, the new library was officially opened by Her Majesty the Queen. It is the first public library to ever achieve a BREEAM Outstanding rating after achieving an overall score of 86.4%.

The scheme uses an innovative river water cooling system drawn from the adjacent River Severn and the building is predominately naturally ventilated.

Working with Galliford Try Construction, the new building provides over 11,000m2 of library, research, archives and public space.

It is expected that up to a million visitors a year will enjoy the new facilities, which will also be linked to the adjacent University of Worcester campus, creating a whole new learning and cultural centre for Worcester.
