Bouygues UK announces support for Construction Youth Trust

Bouygues UK, a subsidiary of one of the world's largest construction groups, has offered Construction Youth Trust (CYT) a three year donation as part of Bouygues UK's Corporate Sponsorship Programme.
Christine Tonwley, director of CYT, a charity that helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds into training and employment in the construction sector, has expressed her delight about receiving corporate support from Bouygues UK.

'The Trust is pleased that Bouygues UK is supporting CYT's mission and objectives through a generous corporate donation. We see this as the beginning of an exciting new relationship between Bouygues UK and ourselves.

'We are looking forward to working closely together to help young disadvantaged people enter the construction industry,' she said.

In addition to the corporate donation, Bouygues UK is working in partnership with the Construction Youth Trust and the National Construction College to run two-week employment-geared training courses for residents of Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.

This is the second time Bouygues UK has run the scheme, following a successful trial earlier this year. Creating training and employment opportunities for the communities in which the company works is a key aspect of Bouygues UK's CSR strategy and the company is committed to its long-term success.

'Encouraging the next generation to consider a career in construction is crucial for the future of our industry and training is such an important part of this - both in terms of the practical skills required and the soft skills which help young people to adapt to the world of work,' said Lionel Christolomme, managing director of Bouygues UK.

'Bouygues UK is pleased to be working with the Construction Youth Trust in supporting so many initiatives that will have a positive impact on the life chances of young people.'
