John Newcomb has been appointed managing director of The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) effective from 1 August 2012.
He joins BMF from the housewares supplier, Imperial International, where he was commercial director and he has extensive experience of the DIY and housewares sectors, as well as the merchanting industry. He has held senior roles with H&R Johnson, Sandvik Saws & Tools UK and Addis Group.
In addition, he has been involved with BHETA (British Home Enhancement Trade Association) for 15 years and was president for the last two years.
