BIM will be a key focus at The ACR Show

The growth of BIM (Building Information Modelling) is becoming more important as we move towards the deadline which mandates its use on all government projects by the end of 2016. The growth of BIM (Building Information Modelling) is becoming more important as we move towards the deadline which mandates its use on all government projects by the end of 2016. For this reason BIM will be a key focus at the ACR Show, which takes place from 16 to 18 February 2016 at the NEC in Birmingham.

BIM has the potential to improve design, construction and operation of commercial buildings. In simple terms, it is a process that involves creating and using an intelligent 3D model of a building.

By using BIM, building services engineers will have the ability to test various options at the design stage rather than waiting until construction is underway. It is also expected to allow project managers to plan ahead to prevent clashes on site and avoid the associated costs of these.

And once systems have been fully integrated into the building, it is believed BIM will help facilities management teams to evaluate energy efficiency and consider potential upgrades.

However, despite the fact that it has been a hot topic for the last two years and that it will affect almost everyone working within the built environment, how to comply with the Government’s BIM strategy will be a question on the minds of many in the building services sector.

Organised by Datateam Business Media, The ACR Show will be a timely and not-to-be-missed opportunity for engineers, commissioning clients, owners, contractors, consultants, and facilities managers to hear from BIM experts and talk to a host of exhibitors offering BIM models for their products and solutions.

The ACR Show is set for 16-18 February next year and for the first time the show will embrace the heating and ventilation sectors.
