Big names back new ACR Show

With 10 months to go before its launch, three big-name sponsors - LG Air Conditioning, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Panasonic - have signed up to support of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Show (ACR Show), being held at the NEC, Birmingham next March.

LG is sponsoring one of the show's two seminar theatres, which will provide visitors with free access to high quality presentations by industry experts on cutting edge issues, including legislation, technology and opportunities impacting the cooling sector.

Panasonic is sponsoring the Heat Pump Arena, a dedicated zone highlighting state-of-the-art developments in this important and rapidly developing field of renewable technology; and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is sponsoring the onsite visitor registration area.

Already more than half the 3,000 m2 of exhibition space has been sold, with scores of companies currently in the process of finalising bookings and stand positions.

The backing from heavyweight sponsors has been mirrored by rapid take-up of space by other leading companies from across the industry, including: AHT Cooling Systems, Bitzer UK, Emerson Climate Technologies, GEA Searle, Hubbard, Javac, National Refrigerants, Oceanair, Sabroe, Teknic Refrigeration, Thermofrost Cryo and Toshiba.

Iona Spencer, sales manager, said: 'With a gap of three years since the last national exhibition, I'm delighted to report that both the industry and end users are enthusiastically backing the ACR Show. There have been huge developments in technology during this time - particularly on the refrigerants front, not to mention the introduction of the landmark legislation on F-Gas certification. This has changed the landscape in which everyone operates.'

She added: 'With the new requirements on training of refrigerant handlers coming into force imminently, the show is perfectly timed to bring all sides of the industry and clients together - to discuss, debate and learn about the latest innovations and opportunities now opening up.'

The show has the backing of leading industry organisations including the Institute of Refrigeration (IOR), the Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association (HVCA), the Federation of Environmental Trade Associations (FETA), British Refrigeration Association (BRA), Heat Pump Association (HPA) and HEVAC Association.

The event, the only national exhibition for the air conditioning and refrigeration sector and end user customers, takes place in Hall 19 at the NEC on 13 to 15 March, 2012.
