Biasi solar training scheme gets BPEC accreditation

Biasi UK has received BPEC accreditation for its Walsall installer training centre and dedicated solar thermal courses.
The BPEC solar thermal qualification can be used by installers as the first step to achieving MCS accreditation, which can lead to gaining access to future funding. Biasi say the courses give heating installers the opportunity to 'gen up' on the company's solar products and systems, while improving their portfolio with a nationally recognised qualification.

Richard Braid, marketing director for Biasi UK, said: 'We've designed this course with the ultimate aim of enabling participants to obtain recognised training in the design and installation of solar thermal systems, while at the same time, allowing them to self-certify to building control.

'We're confident that our courses will prove to be extremely popular for forward thinking installers wanting to train on our equipment while also gaining a highly valued, accredited qualification.'

The BPEC training and examination course consists of two intensive days of training about solar energy absorption equipment, design and system installation, through to commissioning and fault finding. The course will provide knowledge to installers on all types of solar panels, plus associated heat stores and equipment. This can involve relatively low tech swimming pool systems through to highly advanced, fully pressurised tube and flat plate collector based arrangements.

Mike Hook, technical sales and training manager for Biasi UK, added: 'We've just completed our first course with six established Biasi installers who had identified the need to broaden their knowledge and skills base, which would enable them to offer their customers renewable technologies such as solar thermal.

'I'm pleased to say they all passed with flying colours and attained the nationally accredited solar thermal qualification and we look forward to welcoming more installers to our state of the art, BPEC approved training facilities.'
