The winners of this year's BCIA (Building Controls Industry Association) awards were revealed on Thursday 9 May during the annual Gala Awards Dinner held at St John's Hotel in Solihull.
The judging panel met in January to review the entries for each category and following a healthy debate and a simple voting process, the top entries within each category were chosen as the finalists. A further secret ballot was then taken to decide the winners.
Independent Systems Installer of the Year, sponsored by Centraline by Honeywell, was awarded to Universal Systems Controls (USC).
Detail Design Engineering (DDE) won the Best Service & Maintenance Provider accolade, which was sponsored by Western Automation.
Technical Innovation of the Year - Projects, a category sponsored by Johnson Controls, went to RSP Consulting Engineers for the University of St Andrews BMS Annex.
Meanwhile, the award for Technical Innovation of the Year - Products, sponsored by MBS, was won by the Belimo Energy Valve.
Priva Building Intelligence sponsored the Energy Management Award, which was given to BAS for the Coventry University Upgrade Project.
The Contribution to Training Award, sponsored by B&ES, was won by the KNX Training Facility.
Dave Lyon of Siemens Building Technologies won the Engineer of the Year award, which was sponsored by Trend Control Systems.
Student of the Year, sponsored by Siemens Building Technologies, went to Leonard Harsum of Trend Control Systems.
Finally, the Outstanding Contribution of the Year award was won by Harry Swinborne, and was sponsored by the BCIA.
