Balfour Kilpatrick appoints managers for East

M&E firm Balfour Kilpatrick hopes to strengthen its business development and bid processes in the east of England by appointing two new managers for the region.

Dave Flannigan returns to the company as regional business development/bid manager for the East region. He reports to regional director Phil McGuire and is responsible for leading regional business development strategy.

Stephen Wallis is the newly-appointed operations manager for the Nottingham office. He reports directly to East region area manager Steve Malecki.

As well as these appointments Balfour Kilpatrick has hired Stevie Morrison as area manager for Scotland East operations. Morrison reports to Derek Sanders, the regional director for Scotland.

Insulating EU homes could reduce energy demand by 44%

A new study released by Buildings Performance Institute Europe (BPIE) shows that improving the insulation of existing residential buildings in the EU would significantly contribute to securing the bloc’s energy independence and achieving he EU target of reaching climate neutrality by 2050.

Improved insulation of EU residential buildings would result in a reduction of energy demand for heating in buildings by 777 TWh, or 44% compared to 2020: 46% in gas savings, 44% in heating oil savings and 48% in coal savings.
