ARCADIS UK, the international consultancy, design, engineering and management services company, has completed its role as project manager and employer’s agent for boutique hotel chain CitizenM’s first UK development, located in Glasgow.
The ARCADIS team ensured the eight-storey, 198-room hotel was completed to the standard and quality demanded by this innovative hotel group.

The team was led by director buildings, Craig Kinnon and based locally in ARCADIS' Glasgow office. It maintained a presence on-site throughout, in order to ensure the smooth running of the project on behalf of the client.

ARCADIS is one of the UK's leading providers of project management and cost management services to the hospitality industry with more than 15 years experience in the sector. Projects range from rolling refurbishments for well-known international chains to cost modelling for budget hotels or new build consultancy for specialist boutique sites.

The company has also worked with CitizenM in the Netherlands during the construction of their two Amsterdam hotels in 2008 and 2009 respectively.

ARCADIS has developed a deep understanding of the CitizenM brand, which is key for such a concept-driven hotel chain.

CitizenM hotels offer mobile citizens of the world affordable luxury in central locations, characterized by stylish design, modern technology and a focus on customer service.

In Glasgow city centre, CitizenM Hotel offers modern rooms with free Wi-Fi, free on-demand movies, a flat-screen TV, ambient coloured lighting, extra large beds and power rain shower.
