Sarah Fry as the new chief executive officer designate for the APHC
Sarah commences her role with the organisation at the end of May and will be working alongside John for the remainder of the year as part of a full induction and handover to the role.
Sarah brings extensive senior leadership experience with her career spanning trade associations, certification bodies, and professional membership organisations, with a strong track record in membership organisations serving highly technical industries. Most recently, Sarah led membership and marketing at the Institute of Quarrying (IQ), supporting 5,000 global members.
Before joining IQ, Sarah worked with the Electrical Contractors' Association. where she played a key role in developing the ELECSA competent persons scheme. Under her leadership in brand strategy, ELECSA grew to become the UK’s second-largest electrical certification scheme.
Known for her strategic vision and commitment to building value by understanding member needs and enhancing experiences to drive meaningful outcomes, Sarah is poised to guide APHC through its next phase of growth and impact.
On joining APHC, Sarah said: “I am really looking forward to joining the team at APHC during such a landmark year as the Association celebrates its centenary. As someone who believes in the power of membership organisations to shape better outcomes for everyone, I was drawn to APHC’s strong focus on member support. The organisation has benefited from solid leadership under current CEO John Thompson and is in a great position to move forward. Our goal is to raise the profile and expand the membership of APHC, ensuring the Association and its members have a strong voice in key conversations, from building regulations and Net Zero targets to tackling the ongoing skills shortage in the sector.”
