APHC and BPEC enter partnership agreement

A new partnership between the Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC) and the British Plumbing Employers Council (BPEC) has formalised the working relationship between both organisations with the aim of developing industry qualifications, courses, learning materials and other appropriate areas in order to raise skills and standards across the plumbing and heating industry in England and Wales.

John Thompson, chief executive of APHC with Paul Johnson, chief executive of BPEC.

Both organisations are not-for-profit and led by employers.  BPEC supports those who work within the building services engineering sector to increase their knowledge and skills through providing qualifications, assessments and learning materials via a network of colleges, private training centres and industry stakeholders.

APHC is the leading membership body for plumbing and heating contractors in England and Wales and provides technical and business support to its members, while representing the needs of the wider industry through working with government and regulatory bodies.

Paul Johnson, chief executive of BPEC, said: “APHC is the leading plumbing and heating association for England and Wales. I know that together, both organisations can make a significant contribution in raising industry standards through the development of qualifications, learning materials, the new Plumbing and Heating Trailblazer Apprenticeship, as well as encouraging engineers once they have successfully completed their qualifications and apprenticeships to continue improving their skills throughout their career.”

John Thompson, chief executive of APHC, added: “I’m delighted that APHC has entered into this agreement as we recognise BPEC as a quality awarding prganisation and certification body for the plumbing and heating industry. I’m looking forward to working closely with Paul and his team in the development and implementation of plumbing and heating qualifications, courses and assessments.”
