Alistair Darling talks controls at Schneider Electric

Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling's election plans led him to visit the manufacturing plant of controls firm Schneider Electric.
Alistair Darling met company bosses at the Telford site and was taken on a site tour to see the company's products in operation, including its building management systems and variable speed drives.

'The visit from Alistair Darling provided us with an opportunity to talk about viable options that will help the government meet its climate change targets to lower carbon emissions and improve the UK's environmental performance,' said Rodney Turtle, strategic marketing director from Schneider Electric.

'In addition, the minister was able to gain first hand experience of how manufacturers are tackling energy issues to help influence government policy', he added.
