Aermec outlines Brexit plan

With Britain scheduled to leave the European Union this month, there is much uncertainty across the UK and with questions arising from all quarters, chiller manufacturer Aermec has taken steps to reassure its customer base and supply chain.

Paul Lawrence.

Aermec has been examining various models and scenarios over the past months in order to minimise the impact of Brexit, whether the UK leaves with or without a deal.

“Uncertainty is having a negative impact across the country. There needs to be clarity for businesses and the economy,” says Paul Lawrence, managing director of Aermec UK.

“Customers are our main priority. We, like many businesses, have been planning for months and our focus is on keeping our goods moving across the continent and into the UK with minimal disruption for our customers.”

Aermec’s chillers, heat pumps and fan coil units are all manufactured in Italy. The business has reassured customers that there are strategies in place to ensure there are no delays in obtaining spare parts, so that service and maintenance operations will not be compromised.

The firm has a worldwide customer base and is well accustomed to dealing with varying VAT rates and currency fluctuations, and can factor in any likely border delays.

To ease concerns across its customer base and supply chain, Aermec has issued a flyer entitled How Aermec is Planning for Brexit, explaining what steps it has taken.

The flyer is available to download from Aermec’s website.
