ABS London to go into liquidation

The building services firm ABS London is to go into liquidation after the firm's directors opted to cease trading on March 23.
A meeting of creditors will take place on April 14, when the firm will be put into a creditors' voluntary liquidation.

The London-based firm's 45 workers have been made redundant.

ABS has not filed accounts for almost two years and should have filed accounts in January 2010.

The m&e firm had been sponsoring Olympic diving talent Tom Daley with an expenses-paid vehicle for trips to training and contests. Daley's uncle and sponsor Kevin Selvester is an ABS director. He worked with the firm's co-director Tony Smith.

ABS paid for Tom's family to go to the Beijing Olympics. ABS invited staff, their families and industry guests to a London pub to watch Tom and his diving partner Blake Aldridge compete in the synchronised pairs diving contest of the Beijing Olympics. Tom Daley finished seventh in the contest.
