100th heat pump fitted, 100 more forecast

A County Durham-based firm has installed its 100th heat pump and forecasts fitting 100 more in 2010.
The company Revolution Power installed its 100th heat pump at Sedgefield police station, after establishing the renewable energy firm in Newton Aycliffe in 2006.

The firm fits Stiebel Eltron and Dimplex ground source heat pumps and Ecodan air source heat pumps. The 100 heat pumps so far installed by Revolution Power are estimated to save more than 54 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.

Wayne Richardson, managing director of Revolution Power, said 'It has been a tough couple of years, however we are in a much stronger position going into the new year than we were last year. With our continued growth, I'm aiming to be at 200 by this time next year.'
