Wireless sensor distribution deal agreed

Alpha Micro Components, an independent franchised distributor of electronic components, has entered into an agreement with the originator of patented self-powered wireless technology EnOcean GmbH which will see it distribute EnOcean's energy harvesting wireless sensor modules in the UK and Ireland.
Wireless sensor distribution deal agreed
This technology is designed to gather energy from existing sources found in any industrial or building complex - the energy generated from the push of a light switch or a difference in temperature emitted from a machine or radiator is enough to transmit wireless signals.
EnOcean's wireless modules have been deployed in more than 100,000 buildings globally, helping to create energy-efficient building and industrial automation solutions. EnOcean's technology enables organisations in any sector to capture heat, motion and light and use it as the sole power source for wireless sensors. This eliminates the need for batteries, creating an innovative and sustainable solution for maximising energy performance while reducing operating costs.
It also removes the requirement for on-site maintenance and, because the devices communicate via radio frequency, there is no need for costly and complex wiring.
