Weatherite Building Services (WBS) has announced a new partnership with Swiftclean, a specialist in ductwork and kitchen extract fire safety cleaning.
Weatherite teams up with Swiftclean on kitchen ventilation
The agreement means WBS can now offer a total kitchen ventilation package from design, supply and installation, to complete after sales service including a maintenance programme that now includes vital ductwork cleaning.

Clive Brearley of WBS said: 'Our partnership with Swiftclean means customers can now make one single call for all their kitchen ventilation requirements, and have complete peace of mind that not only will their kitchen ventilation solution meet with desired performance requirements, but also be assured that they are meeting their legal responsibilities by protecting both kitchen staff other building users.'

Swiftclean managing director Gary Nicholls added: 'Failure to ensure regular cleaning of kitchen grease extract systems can invalidate buildings insurance cover. We are aware of many cases where insurers are refusing to pay out on millions of pounds' worth of claims, following fires where the insured has not complied with the conditions or warranties on their buildings insurance policies regarding regular cleaning of the kitchen extract systems.

'Our partnership with Weatherite, who are experts in kitchen ventilation systems, means that even more kitchen extract system users can be confident their extract systems are being installed, maintained and cleaned to legal standards.'

The partnership is also designed to help Weatherite customers meet new regulations set out by the new BS EN15780:2011 Ventilation for Buildings - Ductwork - Cleanliness of ventilation systems.

The new standard applies to both new and existing ventilation and air conditioning systems and specifies the assessment criteria of cleanliness, cleaning procedures of these systems, and the validation of the effectiveness of cleaning.
