Major European manufacturers of thermostatic valves and other residential controls have formed an association as part of the European Building Automation and Controls Association (eu.bac).
It is hoped that by bringing together the majority of manufacturers in the building automation and controls sector both for residential and non-residential buildings, the industry now has one single voice in Brussels.
The industry association is said to represent 95 per cent of the European manufacturers of products for home and building automation. Current members of the eu.bac Residential Controls Group are Broen, Comap, Danfoss, Delta Dore, ESBE, Hager, Herz, Honeywell, Invensys, Oventrop, Siemens, Sonder, TA Heimeier and Theben.
The new representation in Brussels is designed to allow members to receive and provide first-hand information to policy-makers and other stakeholders more efficiently.
The revised statues of eu.bac now reflect the targets of the three working groups for building automation, residential controls and energy services. The main activities of eu.bac in the years to come will cover advocacy, standardisation and certification of products and systems as well as member services and promotion of the industry as the major enabler of energy efficiency in homes and buildings.
