Training Supplement: MHI's training centre promotes excellence

MHI is opening an engineering, training and technology centre in conjunction with its distributor HRP-3D to meet the challenges facing the air conditioning and refrigeration industry in the future
Training Supplement: MHI
AIR conditioning equipment manufacturer Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) is launching an engineering, training and technology centre for the UK in conjunction with its national
distributor, HRP-3D.

The centre, based in Slough, will open later in the year. Training is aimed primarily at architects, consulting and design specialists, commissioning, installation and service engineers, working in the air conditioning and refrigeration sector. This state-of-the-art facility will offer a comprehensive programme of practical and theory-based courses, and promote excellence in the building services' arena.

MHI's Europe commercial manager, David Lettis, said: 'Investing in people and new technology is viewed by industry leaders as the only route to meet the challenges of the future. All industries are subject to change, none more so than the building services sector, where new legislation on protecting the environment and raising standards of competence is making an increasing impact.

'That's why MHI and the HRP Group are establishing this new engineering, training and technology centre, to help people working in this sector keep up with an industry that's on the move, and a business world that's constantly evolving.

'The centre, opening on the same site as HRP Group's new Slough Service Centre, will offer a high standard of facilities, coupled with expert tuition, to ensure the best training the industry can offer.'

Managing director of HRP Group Mandy Pilgrim echoed the sentiments of Lettis: 'Training has always been of prime importance to the HRP Group. We recognise that success in the future is dependent on having the right skill levels to meet the challenges facing the industry. The new centre will allow us and MHI to promote excellence in air conditioning and refrigeration.'

The centre will be the only dedicated training facility in the UK to cover the complete MHI product range. This includes the company's split, multi-split and VRF inverter products.

Among the products featured will be MHI's new Ecolution KX4 VRF Inverter Multi Air Conditioning system. The company says the KX4 represents the pinnacle of its research and development of commercial air conditioning systems. With more than 80 years of air conditioning and refrigeration engineering heritage behind them, MHI's Ecolution KX4 reflects this by achieving the highest levels of efficiency, energy recovery, and reliability through intelligent design.

With the support of 3D Air Sales, providing specialist design and application for MHI systems, the new centre will have the knowledge and expertise to support contractors and designers with the necessary skills to tackle the most complicated air conditioning projects.

MHI believes training has to be an essential element in ensuring that the industry has the flexibility to handle whatever is demanded of it.

The comprehensive programme of training courses to be offered by the centre will ensure that delegates are kept fully up to date with what is new, including the building regulations and the latest directives from Europe. Details of the training programme will be released later in the summer.

The MHI Engineering, Training and Technology Centre, will be easy to find, located at 159 Edinburgh Avenue on the Slough Trading Estate, just off junction six of the M4.
