Sabien Technology's M2G boiler load optimiser has won it approved supplier status to help cut London's carbon emissions.
The energy controls manufacturer has been appointed an approved supplier for London's Green 500 programme, which targets the 500 largest organisations in the capital.

The firm's M2G intelligent boiler load optimiser is a patented system that minimises the problem of dry cycling in boilers and provides energy savings of up to 25%. Dry cycling occurs when boilers fire to compensate for heat losses from the boiler, without contributing to the building’s heating and hot water demand.

Sabien’s CEO Alan O’Brien said: “We are delighted with the Green500 approval, which followed an exhaustive evaluation by the London Development Agency,”.

“The M2G is already in use with a number of government departments and major blue chip companies and has the potential to make a significant contribution to reducing London’s CO2 emissions,' he added.

The company says its M2G’s boiler optimisation control offers a payback of between six months and two years. Sabien's M2G has cut O2's boiler energy consumption by 27%.

The M2G is listed on the Carbon Trust’s Energy Technology List and qualifies for Enhanced Capital Allowance.

Current CO2 emissions in London stand at 44 million tonnes. The government predicts that a business as usual approach would see emissions rise to 51 million tonnes by 2025. This carbon mentoring scheme initiated by the Mayor of London has an overall objective to save 1.5 million tonnes of CO2.
