Recession tips offered to HVCA members

A recession guide featuring 10 crunch-busting tips has been created by the Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association to help its members ride out the economic storm.
'Facing the recession challenge' is the first of many Better Business guides to be published by the HVCA, which are designed to advise member companies on key topics.

The first guide's ten tips advise firms to:

Control costs

Watch cash flow

Focus on credit control

Negotiate with suppliers

Involve workforce in recession-busting strategies

Maintain a close relationship with the bank

Carry on with marketing

Major on unique selling points

Keep customers happy

Make full use of benefits that HVCA membership brings.

The HVCA's guides also point to preferential rates members of its association can benefit from.

Future guides in the Better Business series will cover commercial and contractual issues, human resources, education and training.
