A boat named Wolf and another named Vampire will be racing around Britain as part of Pulsar direct's bid to show it can stay ahead of the competition.
After a 25 year absence the UK supplier of plumbing & heating goods is back to compete in the 2008 Round Britain Offshore Powerboat Race.
Chief executive of Pulsar direct Justin McInerney will skipper 'Wolf' over the 10 day challenge, which will witness more than 70 boats circumnavigating the British coastline at speeds of 55 miles per hour. The team's technical director Greg Marsden will skipper 'Vampire' throughout the 1600 mile race.
The firm, based in Milton Keynes, has a schedule of customer events located at key points along Britain's coastline with suppliers and customers being encouraged to visit its trade roadshow.
The 'Need for Speed' events will take place at ports across the course, including Portsmouth, Plymouth, Milford Haven, Bangor, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Lowestoft.
'It's great to play a part in such a momentous event, and we thought an ideal opportunity to get out and about and meet our customers using a draw that's a little different' said Justin McInerney.
'Those who come down to the roadshow will not only benefit from some great special offers from Pulsar direct, but also experience the true excitement of powerboat racing', he added.
The race runs from June 21-30 and starts in Portsmouth.
