Professor receives award for helping to safeguard public health

Professor Rodney Cartwright, chairman of CIPHE's (Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering) Board of Trustees, has been presented with an Honorary Fellowship by the Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE).

He received the award at SoPHEs 10th Anniversary Dinner, which was held on 7 November at the Royal Garden Hotel in London. It was given in recognition of his immense and venerable contribution in safeguarding and protecting public health.

Prof. Cartwright commented that he is a passionate believer that high standards of plumbing and public health engineering are essential for good public health. He has been the medical advisor for many water companies and the independent medical advisor to the Government's Drinking Water Inspectorate.
