Overclean, a specialist in ventilation hygiene and member of the B&ES, has helped the Baton Charity and the Jubilee Sailing Trust to get the Lord Nelson ship ready to circumnavigate the globe.
The company was contacted by founder of the Baton Charity to carry out urgent works by supplying and installing air conditioning (mostly flexi ducting) and grilles (supplied from its sister company The Grille Shop) to various parts of the ship.
The works involved cutting through mahogany cabinetry to fit the flexi ducting in areas such as the galley, mess rooms and cabins. This will provide good air quality throughout the ship ensuring comfort for those aboard during their voyage around the world.
Overclean's team of four men worked non-stop for seven days to make sure the repairs were finished ahead of the sailing.
At the Bon Voyage Party ceo of the Jubilee Sailing Trust, Alex Lochrane, offered sincere thanks to Peter Reid, Overclean's chief executive, for the generous help of labour and materials, which were all donated free of charge. Mr Reid said he was extremely proud of the Overclean team - Steve Smith, Mustapha Suluman, Ayan Kayran and Gary Smith.
