The major building services contractor's 16-page report is designed to present the firm's economic, environmental and social targets.

In 2006, NG Bailey completed the design and build of M&E services at the Scottish Natural Heritage building. This work achieved the UK's highest ever BREEAM rating -the established method for assessing environmental excellence in UK buildings.

As part of its efforts to develop sustainable building services solutions, NG Bailey plans to open its BREEAM 'Excellent' office in Strathclyde in the summer of 2008,
The firm also plans to widen the availability of its 'Sustainability for Bid Managers' course.

As part of its plans to develop a safe working environment, it will ensure all senior managers attend a health and safety training course. The company will work develop relationships with sustainable solution providers and hopes to deliver a supplier conference incorporating awards for safety, environment and sustainability initiative

To reduce its carbon footprint, NG Bailey will set up energy and water reviews to reduce office energy and water consumption by 5%. This personal green target includes reducing the business miles travelled per vehicle by 5%.

In early 2007, the firm became a founding member of the UK Green Buildings Council (GBC). This new body is set up to champion the design and construction of sustainable buildings.

The company's sustainability efforts include the installation of energy-saving measures such as the installation of waterless urinals at its southern division headquarters in Reading
