Lawsons, a family -run timber and building supplier has won best overall performing merchants award in the Building Supplies R Us scheme.
Lawson's Camden Town branch is the first recipient of the new award scheme, aimed at recognising suppliers of BSRUS.
Lawson's was singled out for the £1,500 prize for its prompt delivery of high quality, affordable products.
The branch will use some of the reward money to thank staff by treating them to a celebratory meal.
Joe Inzani, the managing director of Lawsons, said: 'This is a fantastic achievement for the Camden Town branch and really reflects the hard work everyone has put in to maintaining the traditional values we hold at Lawsons of providing excellent service to all our customers.'
Based in Worcester, BSRUS is a 24/7 online supplier of building materials. The company operates via a network of independent builders merchants from across the UK and guarantees delivery within three days of placement of order.
Frank Kelly, managing director of BSRUS, said; 'We felt the Camden Town arm of Lawsons just had that extra edge in terms of consistent efficiency in dealing with sales orders.'
