KGC launches RHI heat meter database

Kiwa Gastec at CRE (KGC) has launched what it says is the first publicly available database listing heat meters and components that are deemed to be compliant with Ofgem's requirements under the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
Available to anyone wishing to claim the RHI, the database gives details of many heat meters and sub-assemblies compliant with the RHI regulations, for example, MID class 2 or higher. This enables users to check that their candidate meters will meet Ofgem's requirements. The database is fully validated and there is supporting documentation for every product listed.

Georgina Orr of Kiwa said: 'Our new database allows consumers to easily identify suitable products for their renewable heating schemes and gives them confidence that their RHI application will be successful. It provides customers with one source of information about which products are deemed suitable for claiming RHI payments.'

She said the database allows suppliers and manufacturers to upload all the relevant information regarding their meter specifications to one place and therefore reduce the number of repeat enquiries about product suitability for RHI. There is also a direct link to the supplier or manufacturer for each meter or product listed.

The new database follows the philosophy of the Product Characteristics Database (PCDB, previously SEDBUK) and the Irish Home-Heating Appliances Register of Performance (HARP) database, both administered by KGC.

The database can be found at www.rhiapply.co.uk/meters
