ICOM CRASH charity challenge gets off to a speedy start

ICOM, the Industrial & Commercial Energy Association, launched its inaugural ICOM & CRASH £2017 Challenge last month.

ICOM, the Industrial & Commercial Energy Association, launched its inaugural ICOM & CRASH £2017 Challenge last month.

The Charity Challenge involves teams from ICOM and member companies ‘racing’ virtually, for 90 miles, which is the distance between ICOM’s offices in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, to CRASH headquarters in London.

Teams are competing to raise the most money and complete the journey by the most unusual method for CRASH, the construction industry’s charity that assists homeless and hospice charities with construction related projects.

ICOM director Ross Anderson said: “ICOM together with its members really believe in the work that CRASH do. This challenge is a great way to raise money for this exceptional charity whilst burning some calories and having fun. Team ICOM are covering the miles by walking, biking, scooting and Zumba.”

He continued: “Members have also entered teams and there will be recognition at the ICOM Annual Lunch on Wednesday 7th June 2017, for the team which raises the most amount of money and the one with the most unusual way of covering the miles. Our overall target for this challenge is £2017.”

The ICOM & CRASH £2017 Challenge takes place throughout January and February and will see teams of up to four people virtually race, for 90 miles, raising money as they go.
