Hamworthy Heating nominated for three awards

Hamworthy Heating, has reached the final stages of three different awards competitions.

Hamworthy Heating, has reached the final stages of three different awards competitions.

The commercial boiler manufacturer has been shortlisted in the categories: Best Use of Website at the Construction Marketing Awards; Business Engagement with the Community at the Dorset Business Awards; and Outstanding Project of the Year, in the Wessex Region Engineering Excellence Awards.

Managing director Andy Moore said: “We are proud to manufacture market leading products in the UK that are backed up by our personal customer service. It’s fantastic to be shortlisted for all three of these awards which are really down to the people working at Hamworthy, they are integral to the success of this company.”

The company launched a new website earlier this year, which it says has given outstanding results and this has contributed to its shortlisting for the national Construction Marketing Awards. The new site has a simple design, easy navigation and extensive technical information for both old and new products. The site is also responsive to mobile devices making it easier for customers to view on the go.

The company’s work within the community of Dorset has been recognised by the local Dorset Business Awards. Their initiative gives employees one day a year to take part in volunteering and has included fundraising, tree planting, supporting young people to develop employability skills, raising the profile of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects and running a weekly litter pick.

The Engineering Excellence Award shortlist was in recognition of the improvements Hamworthy Heating has made in their factory and production processes. They completely reorganised the space to work more efficiently and the production process has been transformed to a cellular one piece workflow operation. The changes have allowed extra space for storage of finished products to meet short project lead times and satisfy customer demand.
