The National Specialist Contractors' Council (NSCC) has elected Hamish MacGregor, managing director of MacGregor Flooring Company, as its new president.
Macgregor succeeds Simon Bottomley of Balsham Buildings Ltd, who has led NSCC since November 2006.
Macgregor said: 'The focus of my presidency will be on progressing NSCC's three key issues, namely the NSCC Fair Payment Campaign, a solution to the problem of prequalification via the Builder's Profile, and safeguarding the future of the industry by training the workforce and in particular apprentices.'
David Jones of Classic Excel, President of the Association of Interior Specialists (AIS), becomes NSCC senior vice president.
The NSCC brings together 30 specialist trade organisations within the construction industry effectively representing 7,000 UK specialist contractors.
