Gree supplies equipment for Rio Olympics

Gree was awarded ‘Supplier’ status for the Rio Olympic Games after winning several air conditioning contracts for competition venues and supporting facilities.

Gree was awarded ‘Supplier’ status for the Rio Olympic Games after winning several air conditioning contracts for competition venues and supporting facilities.

In order to become a supplier, candidates not only need to provide high quality equipment and services, but also to pass the strict examination in production management, social responsibility, sustainable development and other issues.

This is the latest in a string of high profile sporting events where Gree has been a supplier of air conditioning. These include the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the 2014 Winter Olympics Sochi, the World Cup in South Africa, Africa Cup of Nations in Angola, Asian Games in Guangzhou, Universiade in Shenzhen, FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Ice Hockey World Championships and many more.

To support the installation, Gree Brazil has set up a special service team of technicians, dedicated to ensuring all the equipment runs smoothly and efficiently throughout.

Managing director of Gree UK, Roberto Mallozzi, said: “While Gree is looked on as a newcomer to the air conditioning market in the UK, this appointment emphasises yet again, how highly regarded it is as a brand throughout the world. Its track record shows it is consistently chosen for its innovation and reliability. When an event is watched by the rest of the world for weeks, everything has to be perfect from the start and stay that way throughout.”
