FETA appoints new chief executive

The FETA Board has chosen Russell Beattie to take over from its current director general Cedric Sloan when he retires in September 2014.

Following a successful military career, Mr Beattie was ceo of the John Smith Trust, working with various government institutions to promote good governance and leadership in former Soviet Union and Middle Eastern nations.

He views his new appointment as a further opportunity to take on a constructive and responsible role in what he sees as a vital part of British industry.
