Former Secretary of State for Energy Chris Huhne has been paid more than £20,000 for consultancy services by Nationwide Energy Services (NES) which claims to be 'working towards taking on the role of Green Deal Provider'.

The Sun, Swansea-based NES last month paid Mr Huhne £10,000 as a 'golden hello' and three monthly retainers in advance totalling £10,500.
The newspaper added: 'In the Commons Register of Financial Interests, Mr Huhne revealed that he is being paid by NES for eight hours' work a month as a 'consultant providing advice on business strategy and policy'.
'As Secretary of State, Mr Huhne launched the Green Deal, under which people are helped to insulate their homes.
'NES is a Green Deal assessor, providing 'advice to people wanting loft and cavity insulation and solar panels'.'
