EAL, the specialist, employer-recognised awarding organisation for the engineering, manufacturing, building services and related sectors, has appointed Julia Chippendale as its new managing director.
She replaces current md, Ann Watson, who is taking a 12-month secondment to Semta, the sector skills council for science, engineering and manufacturing technologies, where she will be chief operating officer from 1 September.
Ms Chippendale has previously worked for both Semta and EAL. She re-joined EAL in March following a role as director of a building services company, which she helped to grow, despite the economic downturn, through securing high profile customers and long term contracts
