The Adexsi group is continuing to expand and has now acquired SIH and Eternit Flachdach.
This makes it one of Europe’s largest smoke exhaust, fire safety and natural ventilation companies, with annual turnover of almost €150m.
The France-based group will add SIH and Eternit Flachdach to its portfolio of specialist companies that already includes Hexadome, Boullet, Souchier, SIA and Langethermo.
SIH has specialised in lighting, ventilation and natural smoke exhaust ventilation for more than 50 years and its energy saving solutions complement Adexsi’s existing product ranges and overall approach to the market.
From its base in western Germany, Eternit Flachdach produces a wide range of components for flat roofs, including daylighting systems, smoke extraction and ventilation, and roof gullies. The company’s Essertop skylights are available in high thermal performance specifications with double, triple or quadruple layer glazing.
Adexsi has a strong presence in the UK through its Cardiff-based subsidiary which, as well as serving the UK market, also manages the group’s Middle Eastern export business. Recent projects in the UK include the ‘Walkie Talkie’ building and the developments around Battersea Power Station on the south bank of the Thames.
Adexsi UK technical director Rob Davies said: “By continuing to add specialist products and design expertise, the group is opening up all sorts of new markets to us. Increasingly, building specifiers need access to a range of solutions in order to meet client aspirations and deliver ever higher standards of low energy performance and comfort.”
He added: “At the same time, we have a clear responsibility to keep building occupants safe and healthy. These new product ranges give us the necessary versatility to achieve these key aims and keep up with market demand both at home and abroad.'
