Denman Facilities sale saves jobs

The jobs of 187 workers at Denmans Facilities Maintenance have been saved, following its purchase by Project First Facilities Management.
The Reigate-based business and its assets were sold to Project First, a leading UK refrigeration, project management and contracting company, based in Milton Keynes.

Denmans Facilities Maintenance went into administration on April 23. Keith Stevens head of business recovery at accountancy firm Wilkins Kennedy and John Kirkpatrick, Partner, were appointed as joint administrators of the firm.

John Kirkpatrick said 'From the outset our turnaround experts saw the potential within the company and were determined to try and salvage as much of business as possible. The company has a good offering and we are thrilled that the buyer, Project First Facilities also recognised this potential and helped to secure the employment of Denman's staff.'

Wilkins Kennedy said it had also, in conjunction with the directors, approached a number of companies to try to secure a deal for Denman Group Ltd, Denman Holdings Ltd and Denman Contracting Ltd which went into administration on April 1. Wilkins Kennedy said that as yet no firm has shown interest in these businesses.
