Defra makes Quidos F-Gas company registration body

Defra has agreed to make Quidos an approved F-Gas company registration body and uncertificated acr firms are being urged to apply to the company now.
Defra makes Quidos F-Gas company registration body
Talks between the government department and Quidos, which runs an accreditation and training energy assessor scheme, resulted last night in the company getting the green light to begin certificating acr firms.

From July 4, 2009, it became illegal to carry out installation or maintenance work on acr equipment containing HFCs without a company certificate.

There is still 2,500 firms who have not yet certificated with a company F-Gas certification scheme and a result may face significant penalties for F-Gas non-compliance.

Quidos is calling on all companies who have not yet applied for certification to visit www.fgasregister.com and start the application process.

So far the company has received 100 application enquiries. Quidos is the latest firm to gain approval. The government has also approved Refcom as an F-Gas registration body.

Alexander Barrett, marketing manager at Quidos said 'There is still a large percentage of companies who have not certificated. Our simple online application process will allow us to process applications in an effective and efficient manner to ensure certification is complete within a short time frame. '

Companies can now visit www.fgasregister.com to start the certification application process, which starts from £49 (excluding VAT).

I agree Steve. Just looked to see if we are on this register and we're not, so do we have to pay for two site registrations as we are registered with Refcom?

What a joke we now have two schemes which appear to compete with each other for business.

We only need one to keep things simple. This country always over complicates issues like this.
