CIBSE launches new renewable energy guide

A new guide is being released on 'Renewable Energy Systems Integration' by the domestic building services panel at CIBSE.
The guide is the fifth in the series of books that cover domestic heating, solar heating, underfloor heating and rainwater harvesting.

Designed and written by Bill Bucknell, chairman of the IDHEE and member of the CIBSE panel, it will be a reference to heating professionals looking at ways to use greener technologies in providing cost effective solutions using solar power, wood burning, heat pumps, wind turbines and other environmentally friendly energy sources.

Mr Bucknell said: 'The response to our previous guides has been tremendous. In providing the new guide on Renewable Energy we, once again, look to offer the very best, current opinions and facts to professional heating systems designers and installers keen to produce the most cost effective and environmentally sensitive results for clients.'

The following guides are available from CIBSE, produced as textbook aids for heating design courses:

Domestic Heating Design covers all aspects of designing wet systems.
Solar Heating Design and Installation provides invaluable information about the equipment, systems and controls available and includes useful information about maintenance and health and safety issues.
Underfloor Heating Design and Installation describes underfloor heating system layouts and controls, installation, maintenance and user information.
Rainwater Harvesting is recently published and gives in-depth information about recovery, storage and filtration.
