Carrier highlights sustainable solutions at customer conference

Carrier recently welcomed UK commercial HVAC customers to its annual conference held at Wembley Stadium to learn more about its sustainable solutions and how Carrier is innovating to address the planet’s most urgent challenges while meeting the needs of customers and supporting communities.

Didier Genois, Vice President and General Manager, Carrier Commercial HVAC EMEA

Carrier presented solutions aligned with customers’ sustainability goals, energy needs, cost pressures, changing business requirements, comfort needs and health concerns. With its latest generation of chillers, state-of-the-art air handling units and highly efficient heat pumps, Carrier combines its equipment with building technology, controls, BluEdge® service and aftermarket offerings to provide lifecycle solutions that transform indoor environments.

Didier Genois, vice president and general manager, Carrier Commercial HVAC, Europe, Middle East and Africa, provided his perspective on the market and Carrier’s investment in new products and technologies in line with the phase down and ban on hydrofluorocarbons and the move towards using low global warming potential hydrofluoroolefin and natural refrigerants in line with F-gas regulations.

“Decarbonisation should not wait for the future,” said Genois. “It needs to happen now. At Carrier, we are positioned for sustainability and strive to be a catalyst for positive and energy efficient solutions that support our customers for the long-term.”

Customers learned about Carrier’s continuing efforts to help decarbonise the UK through the adoption of heat pumps. Buildings are currently responsible for 39% of global energy related carbon emissions: 28% from operational emissions, from energy needed to heat, cool and power them. In E.ON’s City of London project, energy-efficient Carrier heat pumps are helping to decarbonise the city.

“Climate change and sustainability, energy transition, the rapid adoption of green energy solutions accelerated by government regulations and incentives, and digitalisation are trends that we are addressing,” said Bertrand Rotagnon, equipment and strategy director, Carrier Commercial HVAC, Europe, Middle East and Africa. “Reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and making the transition to heat pumps provides highly efficient methods of heating and cooling, considerably reducing carbon emissions. Carrier’s portfolio of HVAC solutions helps ensure equipment operates at the highest level with preventative and predictive maintenance, aiding customers with their decarbonisation and sustainability goals while gaining a return on their investment over the product’s life span.”

Customers had the opportunity to tour the iconic stadium followed by a showcase of Carrier’s products, including those designed for specific segments such as data centres and hospitality, with the opportunity to ask the Carrier and CIAT experts questions about the solutions. Customers gained insights into professional football as broadcaster Ray Stubbs spoke with former Arsenal and England footballer, Ray Parlour.

Carrier's 2030 Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) goals include helping customers avoid more than 1 gigaton of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
