Build2Perform moves online

The central learning opportunity for building services professionals, Build2Perform, will be hosted entirely online for 2020, CIBSE has announced.

Now in its fourth year, Build2Perform is a key resource for anyone involved in designing, regulating or managing the performance of buildings. Traditionally hosted at London’s Olympia, the decision has been made to move to a virtual format.

“Cancelling was simply not an option”, said Rowan Crowley, MD of CIBSE Services. “The event has really become central to the CIBSE’s objective of enhancing and sharing the latest knowledge on key issues of the day.”

Buoyed by the success of the organisation’s recent online Technical Symposium and the popular Grow Your Knowledge webinar series, CIBSE sees advantages in the online format, particularly in increasing the availability of the programme for visitors around the UK and the world.

Keeping to the original dates of 23-26 November, Build2Perform 2020 will focus on priority themes identified by CIBSE’s Knowledge Management Panel. These include:

Net zero carbon

Health, Wellbeing and Safety

Climate Adaptation

Retrofit and refurbishment

Circular economy

Digital engineering

Smart Buildings

Alongside these broad themes there will be discussion on topical issues such as: new policy directions, competency and skills demands and the challenges posed by COVID-19.

A detailed programme and list of speakers will be published shortly on the CIBSE Build2Perform website and the event is free to attend.
