BSRIA has announced the opening of its subsidiary office in Beijing, designed to bring the association closer to its clients in Asia.
The not-for-profit consultancy, test and research organisation provides specialist services in construction and building services and will provide market research from its new Beijing base as well as a platform to promote other BSRIA services.
'The office remains closely linked with BSRIA's UK headquarters near London, to increase BSRIA's international research portfolio and add further capability to satisfy the needs of clients around the world', said a spokesman for BSRIA.
Beijing is the first of a number of BSRIA subsidiaries planned to open outside the UK.
BSRIA's market research aims to help manufacturers gain the relevant certification and plan their marketing strategy. BSRIA's consultants offer global market intelligence across a range of building services products. From a bespoke study to the off-the-shelf, BSRIA's China office will help inform business' marketing and business strategy.
Oliver Peng is the general manager at the Beijing office. Peng's experience conducting international research projects comes from working for five years at BSRIA's UK headquarters. His areas of expertise include boilers, water heating, air conditioning, heat pumps, solar thermal and renewables. Peng has also carried out research projects for government exchanges between China and the UK.
Peter Deng is a senior consultant with ten years experience in strategic marketing and market analysis in China. He joins BSRIA as a senior consultant undertaking projects in structured cabling and air conditioning.
Sebastian Tang is a full-time international market consultant for the market research mainly in China and nearby countries. He is in charge of undertaking projects in heating, bathroom equipment and renewable technology.
Annie Zhang manages office administration and order processing. She also is responsible for customer service and marketing logistics.
BSRIA was founded in 1956 and had a turnover of £8.6m in 2006/07. It employs 150 people at its head office in Bracknell as well as regionally-based airtightness testers in the UK and market research consultants in France, Spain, Germany and China.
As well as market intelligence BSRIA provides airtightness, FM engineering, instrument solutions, product testing, design validation services, environmental assessments such as BREEAM as well as SBEM calculations and independent energy reviews to help meet planning requirements for new developments.
