Rotherham-based firm BG Controls has been awarded the title of 'Best Service & Maintenance Provider' at this year's Building Controls Industry Awards.
BG Controls named best maintenance provider
The building controls specialist was singled out by BCIA 2010's judges for its 'outstanding levels of care and commitment to its clients in the provision of customer service and maintenance contracts for Building Management Systems'.

The company showed that it continued to meet clients' objectives in the past financial year by recording a 92% growth in its service division, BG Systems Support.

The firm also reported that 93% of its maintenance customers return to BG Controls each year.

BG Systems Support director Phil Bolus accepted the award at the Building Controls Industry Awards ceremony, hosted in Coventry on May 13.

Since 1995, BG Controls has been using building controls solutions in public buildings, offices and other commercial premises. In 2009, the company was awarded 'Independent Systems Installer of the Year' at the Building Controls Industry Awards.

'This is the second time we have won a BCIA award in as many years,' said Bolus. 'I would like to thank everyone at BG Systems Support who has helped us to achieve the service levels we offer. Because of them, we can boast a 24 hour call-out service and a bureau operation that is staffed 364 days a year, 15 hours a day - supporting 10 different product ranges.'

Carbon reductions for northern arena

Rinnai hot water systems are projected to produce ‘significant’ carbon reductions at a huge indoor arena in the North of England. The company has produced a designed system based on its R290 high-temperature heat pump. This arena regularly hosts large events such as concerts, conferences, theatre plays, exhibitions, live music and other conventions – so the site must have an energy efficient and carbon-reducing hot water system to achieve NetZero.
