BDR Thermea chief steps down

Baxi Heating’s parent company BDR Thermea Group has announced that its chief executive, Bertrand Schmitt, will be stepping down with effect from 31 December to pursue other opportunities outside the company.

Under Bertrand’s leadership over the past seven years, BDR Thermea entered a new phase of growth and innovation. He drove and implemented his vision to make BDR Thermea Group a leading, globally recognised provider of sustainable heating solutions and services.

Marc de Jong, Chair of Supervisory Board BDR Thermea, said: “Bertrand's relentless focus on bringing the Group strategy to life has allowed us to become a significant player in the field of heat pumps and hybrid systems, living our values of Sustainable future, Customer focus, and One team. He skilfully executed that vision by building a strong team, an aligned company structure, a clear and companywide-supported strategic roadmap, building on strong brands and focused on execution, while deepening our relationship with our end-customers and installers.” 

He added that under Bertrand’s leadership, BDR Thermea successfully navigated through the COVID crisis, emerging from this difficult phase even stronger. “His contributions to our company will certainly be remembered for years to come. On behalf of BDR Thermea Group, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Bertrand for his service and dedication. We are proud of what has been accomplished under his leadership, and we will carry forward the legacy that Bertrand has left us, building the next growth-chapter on the foundation he created during his tenure.”

BDR Thermea Group will announce its new chief exeuctive in the coming days.
