AvantiGas brand introduced to UK energy market

UGI Corporation has purchased Derbyshire-based Shell Gas (LPG) UK, making American-owned UGI one of the largest LPG providers in the world.
Shell Gas (LPG) UK will be rebranded AvantiGas with immediate effect and will continue to be managed as a local company, focusing solely on LPG.

Donald Groth, vice president at UGI Corporation, said: 'There are no planned changes to price, service, employees or the management team as a result of the transaction, and we aim to continue business as usual, offering at the very least the same high level of service that Shell's customers have been used to. In addition we are looking to drive the business forward with further improvements and have already invested in a new fleet of road tankers to enhance our readiness for the coming winter.'

As part of this transaction, UGI also purchased Shell's LPG businesses in seven other countries in Europe and the UK is now UGI's second largest domestic LPG business outside the US.

Carbon reductions for northern arena

The company has produced a designed system based on its R290 high-temperature heat pump. This arena regularly hosts large events such as concerts, conferences, theatre plays, exhibitions, live music and other conventions – so the site must have an energy efficient and carbon-reducing hot water system to achieve NetZero.
